Getting here:
From Paradise, head east and then southeast towards Ohanapecosh camping ground and eventually arriving at Stevens Canyon Entrance. Box Canyon is very near to this entrance. Alternatively, Box Canyon is accessible from Washington Route 123 if you are coming from southeast or northeast of the national park.

Description:
Box Canyon is a series of deep ravines that goes down to a depth of about 200 ft. Walking along its fringes certainly not for the faint-hearted. I kept a safe distance from the edges since most of the rock ledges here were filled with wet moss, which can be slippery.

Other than that, walk around and listen to the thundering sound of the water deep down in the canyon. I could barely see the gushing stream. The canyon area also hosts some decent forests of spruce and fir.

If you walk across the main road, you'll notice an entirely different view that most people would expect when visiting Mount Rainier National Park. The majestic peak of Mt Adams is clearly visible from here, along with the lower Cascade Mountains.
