Getting here:
This waterfall is located some 30 miles to the south of Jasper town site. If you are taking Brewster Coach Tour through Icefield Parkway like I did, the driver will stop here for about 1 hour for you to see the spectacular waterfall.

Description:
The mighty Athabasca River thunders down some 50-ft with violent force and deafening sound. The river flow is constricted by a very narrow gorge, hence producing this spectacular sight. There is a decent lookout spot on the waterfall's edge, as well as a purposely-built bridge across the thundering water for even better vantage point.

My timing was right - the early summer season constitutes the heaviest volume of water flow from the nearby snow-capped peaks. Not only that, there was also a subtle formation of rainbow when the waterfall is viewed in the evening. Added to that the view of majestic Mt Kerkeslin (2,955 m) which made the short trip memorable.

The falls is also surrounded by interesting rock formations that worth mentioning. There are also picnic tables, public washrooms and ample parking spots.
