Getting here:
From Lake Louise village, head toward the entrance of the Trans-Canada Highway. The small road to the gondola base station is on the opposite side of the highway. I also read about free shuttle service that runs from Lake Louise village but since I was driving, I didn't look for one. Do check with the locals on the shuttle service if you need one.

Description:
At the base station, there are two lodges catered for avid skiers - Whiskeyjack Lodge and Lodge of the Ten Peaks. Of course, in May, there is no skiing activities left although patches of snow were still visible at higher elevation. For about C$15, I got an unlimited rides from the base station (1,645 m) to Whitehorn Lodge (2,057 m).

I took the "Friendly Giant" Gondola to the viewing deck at Whitehorn Lodge. The "Friendly Giant" is more of a express ride service that brings you to the end station literally in no time. For thrill seekers, you can opt for the open-chair rides that run parallel to the gondola line.

The view from Whitehorn Lodge is quite sensational. Lake Louise is visible from here. Two main peaks in either Moraine Lake or Lake Louise are visible from here - Mt Temple (3,542 m) on the far left of the view, and Mt Victoria which snow clad peaks feed the water into Lake Louise, is on the right.
